Studio Akane Moriyama made semi-transparent and floating textile volumes for a meeting room and corridor in a newly-built laboratory building of Nifco YRP in the South of Tokyo. The textile work made of silk brings intimate atmosphere in the room as well as it gently blocks exposure towards outside passage through the glass wall. Our close collaboration with architects and lighting designers made it possible to create dedicated details with thin wires so that the three-dimensional volumes appear without gravity.
